Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
1. About this policy
This policy concerns www.wagtailservices.co.uk, operated by Wagtail Services Ltd, company number 14678700, registered office: 7 Wagtail Close, Bude, England, EX23 8GN. Email dan.allen@wagtailservices.co.uk. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Similar technologies, including local storage and scripts, can also store or access information. The rules depend on what a technology does and why it is used, rather than its label.
2. Website services and purposes
Squarespace hosts the website and provides security, form handling and analytics. The cookie banner is enabled and Squarespace’s non-essential cookies setting is Restricted. The detailed Analytics activity log is disabled. The current approach offers optional analytics through consent; we have not established that a statistical-purpose exemption applies.
Our enquiry form uses Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection. This may involve processing device, technical and interaction information and using cookies or similar technologies. Whether a particular storage or access operation requires consent depends on its purpose and the applicable legal exception; not every operation of a security service is automatically exempt.
Adobe-hosted fonts are loaded by the website. Adobe states that it does not use cookies to serve its fonts, although serving fonts involves connection information and Adobe describes licensing and diagnostic processing.
No Google Analytics ID or Meta Pixel ID was configured in the settings inspected. No advertising integration was identified in those settings. The Advertising category in Squarespace’s standard preference panel is not evidence that advertising tracking is installed.
3. Necessary and optional technologies
Some storage or access is exempt from consent where it meets a specific legal exception, such as being strictly necessary to provide a service you request. This may include an appropriately limited security or consent-preference technology. Security services are not automatically exempt in every respect.
Optional technologies that do not meet an exception require consent before use. The statistical-purpose exception has specific conditions, including limits on purposes and information, clear information and a simple free way to object. It is not a blanket exemption for analytics. We require consent for optional Squarespace analytics.
4. Cookies used on this website
The following first-party Squarespace cookies have been observed under www.wagtailservices.co.uk. The session duration for crumb was observed directly. Other durations below are expected durations from Squarespace documentation, not independently measured expiry periods.
| Cookie | Purpose and category | Expected duration |
|---|---|---|
| crumb | Security / CSRF protection; necessary. | Session — observed and documented. |
| ss_marketingCookiesAllowed | Remembers your marketing consent choice; necessary preference storage, not advertising tracking itself. | 30 days — documented. |
| ss_performanceCookiesAllowed | Remembers your analytics consent choice; necessary preference storage. | 30 days — documented. |
| ss_cvr | Visitor analytics; optional, subject to consent. | Two years — documented. |
| ss_cvt | Visit/session analytics; optional, subject to consent. | 30 minutes — documented. |
Optional Squarespace analytics cookies are controlled through your consent choices. Testing on the existing live website found these analytics cookies appeared after acceptance and were absent after rejection and withdrawal. These findings do not establish the behaviour of every third-party technology or service.
Necessary security and choice-memory cookies are used for those limited purposes without optional analytics consent. Squarespace’s cookie documentation provides the expected purposes and durations; its consent-cookie names use slightly different capitalisation.
5. Managing your preferences
The current controls provide Accept all, Decline all and Manage cookies. Necessary is shown as Always on; optional Performance and Analytics and Advertising categories can be switched individually. Use the persistent Cookie Preferences button to reopen the panel and save a different choice. Your choice is remembered through the preference cookies listed above.
You can also use your browser settings to delete or block cookies. This may affect website functionality. Changing a preference does not retrospectively undo processing already carried out lawfully. Withdrawing consent stops permission for subsequent optional analytics. This does not guarantee deletion of identifiers held by every third-party service.
6. Changes and questions
We will review this policy and the cookie configuration when website services or relevant requirements change. Contact dan.allen@wagtailservices.co.uk with questions.
